PP Bulk Bag Recycling Solution
Yunnan Copper is a large-scale smelting enterprise that generates a significant volume of used PP bulk bags (FIBCs) during raw material handling and packaging. Over time, the accumulation of discarded bags created issues of limited warehouse space and increasing environmental compliance requirements. With time, it became both a logistical burden and a sustainability concern to manage bulky waste materials.
To address these challenges, HS Machinery developed a tailored bulk bag recycling and washing system designed for high-volume industrial waste streams. The project focused on building a practical, closed-loop recycling process that converts used PP FIBCs into reusable raw materials. The process includes:
- Used bulk bags are first reduced in size using a heavy-duty crusher to ensure efficient downstream handling.
- The shredded material enters friction washing and dewatering stages, where sand, labels, and residual contaminants are thoroughly removed.
- Clean flakes are then fed into the pelletizing system. During melt extrusion, a high-precision filtration unit (such as a plate-type screen changer) removes fine impurities, maintaining melt purity and consistency.
- The final output is high-quality recycled PP pellets suitable for manufacturing products such as garbage bins, flower pots, plastic pallets, and other low-spec injection-molded items.
Through this structured recycling workflow, discarded bulk bags are transformed into reusable industrial materials, creating a stable resource recovery loop.
The project enabled Yunnan Copper to convert waste bulk bags into valuable recycled PP pellets, easing storage constraints while meeting environmental compliance requirements. The system supports long-term material reuse and reduces reliance on virgin plastics, aligning operational efficiency with sustainable production practices.
